[22/09/2009] Sale of plant in Marseille

This Thursday

On the 15th of October 2009, after trading hours (i.e. 5:45 PM CET), Omega Pharma will publish a Trading Update on the third quarter 2009 (including sales figures) on this web page.

Omega Pharma sells French production unit to Fareva Group

Omega Pharma has sold its production site in Marseille to Fareva, a European specialist in the manufacturing of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

While the asset deal implies a reduction of the group's turnover of about 5 million euro on an annual basis (i.e. the turnover from current manufacturing operations on behalf of external customers) as of 4Q2009, it also leads to more efficient sourcing operations, which will positively impact the group's profitability.

Group profile

Omega Pharma is now using a new logo (see top-corner left). The Greek character omega continues to be a major element of the logo, and the color combination also refers to continuity. But the new logo better reflects the image of a dynamic and modern company where people (customer, consumer, employee,...) have a central position.

The new logo matches the strategy of Omega Pharma to position itself better as a group. Today, Omega Pharma is operating in over 35 countries, but in numerous countries the local subsidiaries still have a different corporate name. Wherever feasible those name will be changed over the coming months. The new logo will then feature on all products of the group.

From the same perspective, the company will continue its commitment to the Pro Tour Cycling Team with the corporate name as title sponsor for the 2010 season, replacing the brand Silence (anti-snoring products)... Omega Pharma in the rainbow jersey!
